Student Technology Getting Started Guide


MyCharleston is your secure gateway to the College’s online services. Logon with your COUGARS username and password, the same combination you use to log into campus computers, like the ones in Addlestone Library.

Cougars Account

Uses same username and password as your MyCharleston account, permits you to log on to computers in the Addlestone Library, computer classrooms, terminals located throughout campus. 

All College of Charleston applicants who have been accepted have an e-mail account that is accessible through Cmail. Learn more about accessing and managing your e-mail account at it.cofc.edu/accounts-email/cmail 

Web Space – Your Cmail account also comes with space for students to post web pages at stu.cofc.edu or by using Sites within Google Apps.

Appropriate use policy


eduroam is the secure wireless network used by CofC students, staff, and faculty. Using this network gives campus community members access to the Internet, internal network resources and wireless service at more than 4,000 other eduroam institutions globally.

ResNet is a high-speed internet service that provides internet access to every student living on campus at the College of Charleston. Support for the computer network in the residence halls and historic houses is provided by Apogee.

Both Apple and Dell have established College of Charleston online stores where you can take advantage of reduced pricing when purchasing personal computers. Both sites include models recommended by Information Technology at various price point options.
