William H. “Bill” Mayo
RIDGEVILLE, SC – William H. “Bill” Mayo, 78, of Ridgeville, husband of S. Jenelle Myers Mayo, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2012 at Trident Medical Center. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, July 3, 2012 at the funeral home from 6 until 8 o’clock. Funeral service will be held Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 5 o’clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel, Summerville. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605. Mr. Mayo was born August 9, 1933 in Orrington, Maine, son of the late Thomas and Helen Mayo. He attended John Bapst High School, Bangor, Maine. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving as a Submariner. After retiring from the Navy, he worked at the Charleston Naval Shipyard as a Ship Superintendent. He worked at Lowe’s and loved the outdoors. Surviving in addition to his wife, are one daughter and one son: Kim Mayo and Mike Mayo both of Florida, one grandson: Chase Mayo of Florida, one sister: Catherine Rinkle of St. Petersburg, Florida. step daughter and step son: Charlene Bates and her husband Tracy of Ridgeville and Todd Weston of Ft. Drum, NY.
