We took a quick weekend trip to Florida today. Seaworld was our first stop after getting into town. We didn’t make it to the park until 2 and they closed at 6, so it was a short visit. We got in the Shamu show, Manta, and some general sightseeing/shopping. I don’t have a photo of it now, but they also had the single tackiest toy I’ve ever seen. I’ll take a picture of it and post it separately when I get back home. It’s the kind of thing that makes you wonder if they even look at some of the toys they are selling.
It’s a shame that OSHA won’t let the trainers get into the water with the whale. Especially since their reasoning is they don’t have air tanks to prevent them from drowning. Using that as a criteria, there shouldn’t be any lifeguards at pools, either. Having to put that metal fence between them and the whales was just wrong. Also, the whales looked like they kept waiting on them to hop in the water with them. Almost like having a dog that you pet every day when you come home from work, and then after 10 years of doing it that way, you suddenly stop.
Tomorrow will be Busch Gardens Tampa, and I’ll post some more pictures then. In the meantime, it’s off to bed.
